Initially launched with a full-length motion picture and four half-hour episodes, Red Shoe Diaries has gone on to become Showtime’s most successful original series with a total of 66 episodes produced.

JAKE (David Duchovny), who introduces each of the episodes, is a young urban architect, handsome, successful and totally in love. Suddenly his world is shattered when his fianceé (Brigitte Bako) commits suicide. After her death, he discovers her diary - a diary he never knew she kept - and is compelled to read it. He is horrified to find out how little he knew about her. She had an entire secret life - a passionate affair with a shoe salesman (Billy Wirth) who sells her a pair of red shoes. As the affair intensifies, the shoe salesman becomes dangerously possessive and won’t let her go. It sent her in a spiral of severe depression and ultimately her own death.

Overwhelmed with questions and not knowing where to turn for answers, Jake reaches out to women everywhere by placing an ad in the newspaper asking for their diaries - their most heartfelt, intimate thoughts and secrets. He hopes he can learn through their experiences how his own relationship could have gone so terribly wrong. Each episode presents one of these diaries... stories of passion, obsession, eroticism and love. And with each episode, Jake comes a little closer to his own understanding.

In this episode, ”As She Wishes”, an exotic desert island holds a man marooned alone until one day a beautiful woman washes ashore. Nights on the beach kindle a relationship like neither has known before. They explore forbidden areas of desire, guilt and savage need.

Two newlyweds have their honeymoon interrupted by the news that the bride has landed a dream role in a big feature film. The groom, ever supportive, sends her off to the set and is left alone to his wild jealous imaginings of his wife and the leading man in one love scene after another.
