How did I end up here? I have to ask myself this question and laugh. After all it's not like it was my lifelong desire to become a porn star. Strangely, becoming a porn star wasn't on the agenda, so how the hell did I end up here?

I was an only child, a small town girl, born in Longmont, a little community just outside of Boulder, Colorado. On May 26 I came into the world, a sweet, innocent, pudgy little girl with a tuft of blonde hair. After an altercation with my Dad in my teens I was shipped out to live with my Mother in San Diego. During the end of high school and through part of college I worked for a chain of video stores in the San Diego area where I learned a lot about porn. Since the stores had adult movie rentals I became pretty familiar with the videos, the stars and the companies.

I came into the adult industry via an acquaintance who was a friend of photographer Warren Tang. Warren eventually shot one of my very first magazine layouts. I decided that since I was ever-adventurous I would go to Los Angeles to try one or two movies and see what happened. After about five movies I was getting all kinds of calls for more work so I decided to move my entire life, dog and all, from beautiful Colorado to a lovely (not) one-bedroom cottage (?) on a charming five-lane thoroughfare nestled beneath the power lines in North Hollywood.

Now I live (and often shoot) in my renovated 1927 warehouse loft in downtown LA, I run 5 live webcams out of my home 24/7 so you can take a peek at a porn star in her natural habitat.

From October 2003 to February 2006, Ireland hosted a weekly Internet radio show, Kylie Live on ksexradio.com, about the pornography industry. She won the KSEX Radio Listener's Choice Award for "Best Radio Voice" in 2004, and the "Best Insight into the Adult Business" award for 2005.

Kylie Ireland is a member of the AVN Hall of Fame.
