This DVD doesn't deliver the promised goods.

"The more they get, the more they want". Those are the words describing the girls in this movie. Unfortunately, it's not a completely accurate description of what entails in "Purely Sexual". As you may guess, this is not a very good movie. In fact it's quite awful. It's usually a shame when one of the best parts of the movie is found in the special features menu.

At first it was hard for me to put a finger on what was wrong. After the first viewing I was left with a general distaste and antipathy for it. I had to watch it a second time to figure out what was missing. What should have been obvious took me quite a while find: There is no talking anywhere in this movie. The girls do not utter a single word. My assumption is that none of the girls speak English and thus the lack of dialogue was an affirmative decision on the part of the director to leave it out. I'd never really thought of how dialogue affects a movie. I now think it's a pretty integral part. The dialogue greatly affects the ebb and flow of the scenes. It often sets the emotional base of the character and sets the story for the plot. Here the lack of noise makes for a very sterile atmosphere and robs the movie of much of its soul.

I also had a difficult time following the movie. It did not keep my attention. I found my index finger and thumb itching to hit the fast forward button on my remote and I had to make a serious effort to control that urge throughout the movie. This is sad, especially because the movie has a lot of the ingredients for making a great adult movie. For starters, the girls are really attractive. A lot of them could be model material: they're tall, leggy, wonderfully proportioned, have great hair, and they all have pretty faces. Second, the video quality is excellent. The picture and lighting are almost perfect. Finally, the scenery, background, and wardrobes are great. The girls are dressed very provocatively and the backgrounds imbue a nice warmth to set up the scenes and tell a story. However, all these factors seem to be moot. All these things that should be working in a positive way don't seem to make much of an impact.

Besides an absence of dialogue, the scenes also suffered at times from a lack of sexual energy. Many of the girls did not look like they were particularly enjoying themselves. Several made no real attempt to do much of anything and at times laid very still while the guy entered her.

There was only one scene that did anything for me. It's the fourth scene and features Veronica. She is a leggy brunette with beautifully firm tits and straight jet-black hair. She wears a sexy schoolgirl outfit with adorable white cotton panties. Her scene begins with her studying on her bed. A male friend arrives and almost immediately he makes a move on her. He starts by sucking on her perfectly hairless pussy. Veronica rewards us by giving a strong reaction and moaning rather loudly. The scene ends with the guy fucking her doggystyle very slowly. It was rather erotic to see him slowly pull out of her and then gently ease himself back in. It drove Veronica nuts and was fun was to watch.

The special features were good. This DVD has more extras than the average adult movie. There is the traditional trailers and photo galleries, but there is also a nice dubbed bonus scene and a cool looking behind the scenes vignette. The bonus scene, while dubbed, had the sexual energy that most of the feature was lacking.

Overall, I can't recommend this movie. It didn't do much of anything for me. The girls are quite attractive, but at times they didn't seem into it and I really couldn't get over the absence of any dialogue.
