Fast Fun

It's always fun to see what the big studios have up their sleeves when it's time to shoot for the awards season with their films. It's where packaging gets huge, extra features get plentiful, and the list of talent in any given film is absolutely monstrous. Wicked's effort this year is Speed, a drama (most of you know my feelings about those) involving motorcycles and guns from what I can tell. Four discs in one package is rather remarkable, though it's just the one with the actual film on it. Two more discs of special features and a sampler for Wicked's 2010 catalogue are also included. If you and your partner are new to the adult world, starting with one of these award attempts is definitely a good way to go.

We open with Jessica Drake getting out of prison, Barrett Blade picking her up on a rather nice looking sport bike (I like mine better, though). Then it's time for pizza on Styrofoam plates! And orange pop! Congrats on getting out of prison, honey! I shouldn't be snotty about that, though: pizza and pop is probably what I'm reaching for after a long-time controlled diet. I blinked and the first sex scene started.

But for this one, it's kind of a typical opening scene, trying to keep the theme of the film together while starting with good action. So of course there's a motorcycle in the background to highlight what we're doing here, all the while getting long, lingering looks at that ass on Alexis. The lighting results in some shadowing, though the secondary lighting limits them. The directorial decision here was, probably, to make it seem like it was in a dark garage, but still make it visible. Alexis rides cowgirl for quite a long time, all the while Briana riding Derrick's face to her delight. We don't do much else, going instead for an attempted double facial, though most of it winds up on Derrick's hand instead. Ah well.

So it's welcome home for Jessica, and it's a kind of odd setting: I guess it's supposed to be some kind of biker party, though they mix up their stereotypes a bit between sport and cruiser bikes. A strange sequence, this one, like a cross between a bike show and a party. Lots of all-girl stuff breaks out, and I've got Alektra Blue at least picked out here. I wish they would have toned down the multi-coloured lighting a bit during this. One, it doesn't feel like it fits the timeframe here (we're not making a feature in 1998, are we?), and it distracts a surprising amount, too. Oddly enough, this one just kind of ends without any fanfare. A jumpy film so far.

Kirsten Price gets a chance to slow things down just a little bit with Randy Spears and Bill Bailey. You know these are films aiming for awards when they have sequences not involving sex, just trying to advance the plot. Strange wig going for Kirsten in this one, too. The next sex scene, instead, is a bit strange in that it seems to try a little too hard on stereotypes. It's the all-Asian sex scene, with a guy and two girls in a theme that - I'm not making a joke with this - looks like my local Chinese restaurant. Quite a bit of heat to this one, though some pretty heavy shadows again.

Which, admittedly, is a bit what I expect from Brad Armstrong. That's just his style, as is his approach to dramas in general. Tons of extras on this one include everything from bloopers to the making of to deleted scenes, 4 bonus scenes, and a lot more. If nothing else, you're definitely getting your money's worth.

I'll still remain a bigger fan of last year's feature, 2040, from Wicked, but Speed is definitely a darn good film, one that should pick up quite a few awards and be found on a healthy number of film shelves in years to come.

Speed brings it hardcore!

Sharing the name with the unrelated Keanu Reeves franchise, Speed is a Wicked Pictures feature film that involves big action, with big sexual gratification. Following Jessica Drake as she is released from prison, the film tackles what happens in her life as she reunites with her old biker gang, and the drama that ensues.

Being a big fan of Kirsten Price, I was glad to see her in a supporting role as a gang member turned informant for the law. And that brings up the first strong suit of this film, the casting. This is the biggest cast of any porn film I have seen in recent memory. While some films may be comfortable filling their scenes with 5 actors or actresses at a time, Speed goes so insanely above and beyond the usual form and has an astonishing 16 famous stars on screen at a time. It's almost overwhelming at times, but ultimately it provides you with a lot of visually appealing fucking.

Interspliced with these great, grandiose sex scenes are EXCELLENTLY filmed bike races and challenges. The road scenes here, with the bikes flying down the highway and doing tricks, are incredible and done with great Hollywood style precision. The fact that you can see it is the actors themselves riding the bikes at times, really ups the believability factor here!

Packaged alongside the main feature are an astonishing THREE DISCS(!!!) of additional material. The three discs contain outtakes, bloopers, behind the scenes footage, bonus scenes, promo reels, a digital copy of the film for portable devices, an extended orgy scene, complete deleted sex scenes and tons and tons of trailers. This has to be the largest additional material package I have ever encountered! Totally an asset to this as a package and it has enough material that it'd be worth a purchase on its own! Also, it should be noted that the feature contains a special 'choose your own audio' gimmick which allows you to pre-set the audio during sex scenes to pick up exactly who and/or what you want to hear. I found that to be incredible.

Not a big fan of the usual big budget porn features, I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the depth, sexuality, and watchability of Speed. This definitely is the big budget film of the season to own.

Wicked Pictures' Speed

So every year I watch Wicked Pictures' annual big release, and every year I think "There's no way..."

There was no way they could top Coming Home (2007), which actually brought a little tear to my eye in the end... but then I saw Fallen (2008). And then there was no way they could top a fallen angel trying to redeem her soul... but then I saw 2040 (2009). And now, needless to say, Mira the sex robot who begins to feel in an unfeeling world has been replaced by Wicked's newest amazing-ness, Speed (2010).

Wicked's newest blockbuster rules!! Seriously. Let me tell you why...

Speed is three+ hours (!!) long, and it unfolds virtually flawlessly. The film is about four semi-rival, semi-clandestine motorcycle "clubs" operating in and around Los Angeles, their interactions with one another, and their eventual demise. There's an Asian club (led by Keni Styles - yummm!!), a black club (led by Mr. Marcus), the apparently-controlling and most powerful club (led by Derrick Pierce - shiver!!), and a skanky bad guys club-ish (led by Spyder Jonez).
...and the story that unfolds around these clubs is really compelling!! Here're the essentials: jessica drake gets out of jail, where she has been for four years after taking the fall for her asshole ex-boyfriend (Derrick Pierce). She is adjusting to life on the outside while falling in love with Barrett Blade ...who just happens to be Pierce's right-hand man.

Now forgive me, but I must interrupt myself (??) for a moment here to comment on Barrett Blade who, hel-lo, is developing into the most amazing romantic lead. It's somewhat odd to get that teenage dreamy feeling while watching porn, but sexy ass Barrett Blade is doing just that for me as of late (I'm just sayin').

Ok, anyway ...back to it!!

Tough, sweet, and long-suffering Kirsten Price is working with the cops as an undercover "spy" of sorts in order to get her father out of jail. Spyder Jones and his sub-club of sorts, which includes Alektra Blue, are planning a double-crossing coup under the auspices of paying off a significant debt they owe to the black club. And in trying to excise herself from the Asian club, Kaylani Lei finds herself in the arms of Derrick Pierce. This (and more) love-triangulation and rivalry culminate in a complex and somewhat gruesome conclusion... which, ehhmm, is punctuated throughout by some serious fucking.
Now speaking of fucking, let's just start out with the obvious highlight: the 16-person poolside orgy scene. I generally find orgy scenes to be a bit too much. There is so much stuff going on that I can't really absorb any of it, but this is not the case with the orgy scene from Speed.

Maybe it was because each little coupling/tripling (quadrupling!!) has their own chaise lounger or the like to fuck on, or maybe it was because each little orgiastic union could stand alone as its own scene (ie a DP with jessica drake, Tory Lane acting like a pissed off bobcat, the presence of Misty Stone) - who knows?! All I know is that it was ex-cel-lent.

And if a poolside orgy doesn't do it for you... well then, you have 10 more scenes to choose from!! Highlights include a raunchy rock star/porn star boy-girl-girl featuring cash, alcohol, Spyder Jonez, and two trampy blondes; a stylized boy-girl-girl between jessica drake, Manuel Ferrara (sigh), and Tori Black; and a pretty hott all girl four-way featuring Alektra Blue ...but like I said, there are way more than just those to choose from!

And you may be noticing something by now - there are a lot of hott people in this movie!! Director Brad Armstrong really showed his skills in orchestrating the most epic ensemble cast imaginable. Honestly - epic. In addition to those I already mentioned, Speed features a bevy of really incredible performers (including Alexas Texas and Asa Akira). It's like the adult version of Ocean's Eleven, Twelve, and Thirteen all at once!!

But there is so so SO much more to Speed - more to the story, sweet action and motorcycle racing, beautiful shots of LA and the outlying desert-scape, and more sex than I care to reveal to you at this moment. You're just going to have to watch it for yourself!! And you won't be disappointed - as the box copy puts it: "...grab your throttle and get ready for the ride of your life!"

Recommended for: fans of the ensemble cast blockbuster epic!!

A really hot big-budget porn movie that somehow, magically, is a great action film as well

Speed, the expensive, sprawling, incredibly good-looking saga by Brad Armstrong, has the distinction of being porn's first biker crime film, but even with its 11 explicit sex scenes, superb acting, a who's who of some of adult's hottest talent, professional action and racing sequences and extraordinary production values, it's also a relationship movie of epic proportions. With all that's packed into this three-disc set, it's one of Wicked's best releases ever, one that should sell for years to come.

Out of prison after doing four years for her crime boss boyfriend (Derrick Pierce), Jessica Drake gets a rude awakening after walking in on Pierce having freshly fucked Alexis Texas and Briana Blair. Ending the relationship and revisiting her old biker territory, she embarks on a new life of sexual freedom while building a new love story with Barrett Blade.

A criminal underworld within the motorcycle community is being investigated by a sleazy cop (Randy Spears in a non-sex role), and that provides the backdrop for the exploration of racing, sex and violent revenge as the gangs gear up for a nasty showdown. Along the way, the racing sequences are exhilarating-all impressively executed by the performers themselves, unaided by stunt doubles-and the immersion into the biker culture rings true.

Meanwhile, the sex scenes are well performed and plentiful with many highlights. A six-person orgy with three of the hottest black chicks in porn-Marie Luv, Jada Fire and Nyomi Banxxx-being slammed by Mr. Marcus, Prince Yahshua and Deep Threat is actually comprised of three simultaneously shot couples scenes, and the heat remains constant as the camera captures close-ups and long shots without ever losing intensity, ending with a couple of facial cumshots.

An orgy at a motel is a prototype for what a group sex scene should look like, as 16 performers seem to get equal attention in an enthralling sequence. Highlights within what is truly one of the best orgies of the year include Jessica Drake being anally fucked and double penetrated, the lovely Misty Stone banging away, Tory Lane's ass being violated and Kaylani Lei showing she loves dick in her mouth as well as her pussy.

An exhaustive array of extras, including a BTS feature, deleted scenes involving RayVeness, Max Mikita, Kaylani Lei and others, extended versions of some sex scenes, an interview with Derrick Pierce on the bike culture, bonus sex scenes, a digital copy of the movie and more augments the package. Overall, this marks a high point in Brad Armstrong's illustrious career, a really hot big-budget porn movie that somehow, magically, is a great action film as well.
