B. Skow’s Biography
B. Skow has been working in the adult entertainment industry for over 20 years. From one of the most accomplished commercial and fashion photographers in Los Angeles to directing award winning porn, he’s done it all. In 1992, Skow landed a photographer’s assistant job on a box cover shoot of a major adult studio. Though he was only shooting images for the cover, he caught glimpses of the action on set and it was enough to get him thinking about moving up to bigger and better things.
He worked his way up the entertainment ladder, shooting Hollywood celebrities like Pamela Anderson, as well as covers and layouts for popular men’s magazines. By 1994, he was working full time in the adult industry shooting box covers, layouts, and advertisements. He followed this path for several years before finally making the leap to directing films in 2005. In his early years of directing, he worked primarily with Vivid. His first year alone he directed “$2 Bill,” “Circus,” “End Game,” “Groupie,” “Sunny,” and “Karma.” Skow went on to direct for Vivid for many years.
In 2012, Skow became the first director to ever release a movie featuring boy/girl sex scenes through Girlfriend Films, a production company that made a name for itself by only releasing lesbian content. All that changed with the release of Skow’s “Voila.” The film was so successful that Skow partnered with Girlfriend Films and created Skow for Girlfriend Films. Skow specializes in boy/girl couplings that blend hardcore action with tasteful seduction, engaging audiences with stunning works of art.
Skow has been nominated multiple times by AVN and XBIZ for Best Director and Best Screenplay. Additionally, many of his movies over the course of his career, including “The Condemned,” have all received AVN awards. His studio, Skow Digital, offers him full creative control over all his content, from story driven features to gonzo, vignettes, and niche porn. His label with Girlfriend Films, Skow for Girlfriend Films, received a 2014 AVN Award for Best New Line.
