Jodi West Porn Star Biography

With a degree in marketing from Ohio State, Jodi West built a successful career in real estate before entering the adult entertainment industry. "Never in a million years" did she ever think she'd be performing in porn movies, or head of her own production company, but after 20 years in this career she decided to retire from the real estate industry and try her hand at creating XXX content after realizing she had a penchant for exhibitionism (discovered through her marriage's swinging tendencies). West began by doing webcam shows in 2008 and then working for a few studios in 2010-greatly influenced by her experience with Girlfriends Films whom she says had a "wonderful way they ran their company and how they treated their talent." Although she may not have imagined herself in the role she is in now, Jodi says that for the first time in her life she gets to be completely herself.

Friends With Benefits

The one thing that stuck out in Jodi's mind was the lack of familiarity between partners on the set of an adult movie. She felt she could improve on the quality of the sex in the movies if you had a natural chemistry or friendship with your partner. So, when she and her husband-Jay West-began Forbidden Fruits Films in 2012, they set out to create that type of chemistry in their films. She had known Desi Dalton as part of the swinger community, and had become friends with Shay Fox and Levi Cash, during her first experiences in the industry-which provided her with epitome this "friends with benefits" the company was striving for and helped them get their start. However, their company has also filled another niche: some friends had relayed to Jodi some second hand stories of older women who had found themselves physically attracted to their step-sons and acted upon their urges. Jodi found this to be very titillating and felt it would be an interesting idea to explore; her husband would then take her idea and bring it to fruition. Their first attempt at the genre was a series titled Memoirs of Bad Mommies which was a vignette series that explored what happens when lonely and sometimes desperate people make bad decisions; it was released on VOD platforms where it quickly rose to the top of the rankings. This proved to be a very successful formula for the couple, where Jodi would let her imagination run wild and her husband would make her "dreams come true." Spurred on by the success of the series, they released two more series that explored taboo relationships that exist amongst today's complicated families-Blended & Twisted and Mother's Indiscretions, the latter of which won the 2014 XBIZ Award for Best Pro-Am Release.

Fruits of their Labor

Though the studio initially had a hard time finding a company that would distribute their content on VOD-the fact that they were a new company who mainly produced online content that dealt with borderline themes made them appear to a be a risky bet-their continued success in the VOD marketplace made them hard to ignore and they eventually inked a deal with Exile Distribution. "In the last 10 years, I haven't seen anything like it," said Howard Levine of Exile, "[their first] four titles sold out in two weeks, which is unheard of."

Quirky Facts

When not living out her fantasies, Jodi likes to spend her time scuba diving along with numerous other outdoor activities like boating, hiking, backpacking and camping.
